How Amped HQ reached 100% psychosocial risk coverage across its global workforce with ReFresh
Amped HQ builds high-performing offshore teams for companies across New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and the US. As the business scaled, manual surveys and spreadsheets could no longer keep pace with its duty to protect every worker. ReFresh automated the work and closed the gaps.

Taupo, New Zealand
Workforce:
Distributed across four countries

640
Hours Saved
Returned to the people team by automating the assessment cycle end to end, with prebuilt surveys and risk scenarios so collation and reporting no longer happen by hand.
$240K
Cost reduced
Achieved by retiring consultant-led surveys and legacy point tools, with prebuilt controls and templates replacing the spreadsheets and external work the business used to pay for.
100%
Risk coverage
Reached by assessing every worker across every site on a continuous cycle, replacing periodic spreadsheet sampling with whole-of-workforce coverage mapped to regulatory expectations.
“For us, ReFresh has been a game-changer. It gives us a real-time view of what’s happening across our workforce, making it easier to act fast, build a stronger culture, and meet our people compliance obligations.”

Overview
Amped HQ helps growing companies build exceptional offshore teams, placing vetted professionals into roles across accounting, marketing, customer support, technology, and operations. Founded five years ago and headquartered in Taupo, New Zealand, the business has made hundreds of placements and embeds its people directly into client teams, working full time and in the client's timezone.
Wellbeing has always been central to how Amped HQ operates. Monthly check-ins, dedicated career success managers, and a strong retention culture set the company apart. As the workforce grew across four countries, leadership wanted that commitment to be matched by a rigorous, evidence-based approach to psychosocial risk, one that could stand up to scrutiny under Australian WHS obligations and New Zealand's Health and Safety at Work Act.
The challenge
Managing psychosocial risk across a distributed, multi-country workforce is difficult to do well with manual tools. Amped HQ relied on periodic consultant-led surveys and a patchwork of spreadsheets to gather and interpret the data. The process was slow, it consumed significant time from the people team, and it only ever captured a sample of the workforce rather than every worker.
That left two problems. The first was operational: collation and reporting absorbed hundreds of hours a year that could have gone to supporting staff directly. The second was a matter of assurance, because sampling meant leadership could not say with confidence that risk had been identified and managed for everyone, across every site and every jurisdiction. In a business whose reputation rests on looking after its people, partial visibility was not good enough.
The solution
Amped HQ rolled out ReFresh Psychosocial Automate across its entire workforce. Assessments that once depended on external consultants and manual chasing now run automatically on a set cadence, reaching every worker regardless of location. Responses flow into a single platform where they are scored, weighted, and surfaced as live risk insight, so the people team no longer rebuilds the picture by hand each cycle.
The shift moved Amped HQ from periodic, partial snapshots to continuous, organisation-wide coverage. Reporting that was previously assembled in spreadsheets is now generated on demand and mapped against regulatory expectations in both Australia and New Zealand, giving leadership a defensible record of identification and control rather than a best effort.
The outcome
Within the first year, automation returned an estimated 640 hours to the people team, time previously spent building and distributing surveys, chasing responses, and assembling reports. Retiring external consultants, legacy point tools, and spreadsheet workflows reduced associated costs by roughly $240,000 across the business.
Most importantly, every worker is now assessed across every site, lifting coverage from a partial sample to 100%. Amped HQ has turned a once-manual obligation into a continuous, defensible system, and the commitment to wellbeing that defines the company is now backed by evidence it can stand behind.
