Essentials: Governance

Run the day-to-day with tasks, consultations, document storage, and reports.

A WHS manager in her late 30s sitting on the edge of a desk in a bright, open office, in relaxed conversation with two workers who have stopped by — one leaning against a doorframe, the other perched on a nearby chair. The conversation is informal and genuine: she is listening with full attention, one hand gesturing lightly as she responds. No laptop is open. No phone is visible. She is fully present with the people in front of her, not at a screen. The scene captures the feeling of capacity returned.

This module covers the governance work that keeps your safety programme defensible. By the end, you'll know how to track every action through tasks, record consultations as evidence of worker engagement, manage documents and their review workflows, and generate reports for stakeholders inside and outside the organisation.

Governance is where your safety work becomes evidence. The risks you've assessed and the controls you've put in place only count if there's a documented trail showing you've acted on them. This module gives you the tools to maintain that trail.

What you'll learn:

  • How to manage tasks across your safety programme and link them to specific risks, controls, or incidents

  • How to record consultations and capture their outcomes

  • How to add evidence to framework documents and submit it for review

  • How to generate and export reports for stakeholders

Is this module for you?

If you're a WHS lead, compliance manager, or anyone responsible for documenting and reporting on your safety programme, this module is for you. It assumes you've completed the Risk Assessment module and have some risks in your register to manage.

This is the final module in the Essentials course. Everything you've built across surveys and risk assessments comes together here, ready to be reported on and defended.
